Next Step: An Internship & Workforce Development Program

The Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with local businesses and organizations to bring our FACC members an exclusive 12-week, bi-weekly program to help your business develop better practices for your current workforce and attain new employees through internship opportunities. The Next Step program will prepare your business to take the next step in adding to its workforce while providing you an opportunity to give the future workforce a place to take the first step in their career. 

The goal of this program is to help our members implement quality employee recruitment and training processes to maximize their employee retention and reduce staffing headaches. At the end of 12 weeks, you will have the systems in place, position defined and confidence to hire an intern to support your business.   

Class 1 - Tuesday, October 3rd at 12pm - Program Overview: Job Description Examples, Resume Reviewing, and Employee Reviews With BBSI

Class 2 - Tuesday, October 17^th at 12pm - Work Experience Program and On the Job Training Program with the Mesa County Workforce Center

Class 3 - Tuesday, October 31^st at 12 pm - Standard Operating Procedures and Employee Training with The FACC

      Location: FWorks Meeting Room 325 E Aspen Ave Fruita, CO

Class 4 - Tuesday, November 14^th at 12 pm - Implementing Internships with GROWL Agency

      Location: 750 Main Street, Suite 202

Class 5 - Tuesday, November 28^th at 12 pm - Handshake, Internships, Apprenticeships, and Job Shadowing Overview with CMU Career Services

      Location: CMU

Class 6 - Tuesday, December 5^th at 9:30 am and/or 11:00 am - Class Graduation: Speed Interviewing with Davis School of Business Students
