Swanhilda is engaged to Franz, but he has his eye on the mysterious girl sitting on the balcony of Dr. Coppélius’s house. Franz doesn’t realize that she is a doll whom the toymaker is trying to bring to life, and when Swanhilda and her friends sneak into the Doctor’s workshop, it looks as though he has succeeded. Love triumphs over all in this comedy of mistaken identity, culminating in a joyful celebration of the lovers’ wedding. Coppélia is an enchanting family ballet, perfect for young and old alike. Featuring thirteen professional company artists, three trainees, and other talented local youth who auditioned for supporting roles, this show runs just under two hours, including a 20-minute intermission. After each performance, opportunities to meet the cast and take photos will be available in the auditorium or lobby.
